Runphase Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Runphase, an Atlassian Forge app published by Skram Systems, LLC. Installing or using it means you agree to them. If you do not, please do not install it.
What Runphase does
Runphase runs a planned change against a Jira issue. You write the procedure, work through it step by step while the change is happening, record what you observed, and are left with an immutable record of what was done, by whom, and when.
What Runphase does not do
People use this tool while production changes are underway, so the boundary is worth setting out in full.
- It does not perform your change. Runphase will not connect to your infrastructure, run commands, deploy anything, or alter any system other than its own records. A person carries out every step.
- It does not verify that a step worked. Marking a step complete, or a success criterion passed, records your assertion. The app has no way to check it, and does not try.
- It does not enforce your change management process, approve changes, or amount to approval. Whether a change may proceed is decided outside this app.
- It does not certify compliance. The record it produces may be useful evidence in an audit. Whether it satisfies any particular standard, regulation or internal policy is yours to determine.
- It is not a monitoring or alerting system. There are no server-side timers. If a change window is exceeded, that gets noticed by a browser which happens to be open and confirmed against the app's own clock, not by a watchdog that will page anyone.
- It is not a secrets store. The Privacy Policy covers that.
License
You may install and use Runphase within your Atlassian site for its intended purpose, subject to these terms and to Atlassian's own terms for Forge apps. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, or resell it.
Your responsibilities
- Decide whether a change is safe to make. Runphase records a procedure. It does not review one.
- Keep credentials and other secrets out of the text you enter. The app screens for them and can redact afterwards, but neither is a guarantee. The Privacy Policy sets out what redaction does and does not reach.
- Manage who can see what through Jira. Runphase shows a person only the runs whose Jira issue they could already open, so your Jira permissions are the control. The app adds no barrier of its own and removes none.
Availability and support
Runphase is provided as is, with no service level commitment and no guaranteed response time. It runs on Atlassian Forge, so its availability is bounded by Atlassian's.
Support is best effort, at the contact address above.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Runphase is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Skram Systems, LLC does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any record it produces is complete or accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skram Systems, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of your use of Runphase. In particular, it is not liable for the outcome of any change you execute, whether or not Runphase was used while executing it.
Term and termination
These terms apply for as long as the app is installed. You may end them at any time by uninstalling it. Skram Systems, LLC may discontinue the app, giving notice where that is practical.
Changes to these terms
Material changes will appear here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
